Instability is the root of creativity. 不穩定是創造力的根源.

The Barcaldine Lighthouse, built by mistake in 1925 in the outskirts of the small town bearing the same name in West Queensland, Australia, has become synonymous with uncertainty or instability in the locals’ jargon. This is due to the fact that since its inauguration, the lighthouse beam which, as for all similar structures should have a regular frequency clearly indicated in nautical maps, instead shines in strange and irregular patterns that have never been solved or clearly explained even after two major refitting attempts in 1935 and 1965.

The lighthouse has become one of the least known landmarks in Australia, even though the famous ‘Mayday Shearer’s Festival’ takes place here, in the same place which saw the birth of the Australian Labor Party in 1891.
